Outlook Won't Remember Passwords

I'm using Outlook 2003 on a Windows XP SP1 machine (not joined to a domain)
to connect to MS Exchange to send email back and forth etc. The connection
is MAPI, not SMTP or IMAP. When you first start Outlook, you are prompted
for your domain username and password. Even if you check the "Remember my
password" box, when you close outlook and then open it again later you are
always prompted for your user credentials.

Any thoughs?
