Outlook won't remember passwords

Everytime I open up outlook express the username and password pops up with
my login and the password blank and the remember password box grey'd out.
I've opened up the accounts entered the password under the server tab and
checked
the remember password box and next time I go in there it's blank again. The
same thing happens with my microsoft outlook except that the remember
password box is not grey'd out but the password is never there although I
have entered the password in the appropriate box.

Anyone know what's going on here?

Not certain if this is the solution you're looking for, but you can always
remove the requirement of a password in Outlook Express. To do this, do the
following.
1. Go to the Toolbar and go to File | Identities | Manage Identities.
2. Click on the button called, "Properties".
3. Uncheck the option labeled, "Require a password". Click OK.
