Outlook won't open

When i brought this laptop it came with office 2003 trail for 60 days, and i
used those days, now after the trail is over i removed office 2003 and
loaded my copy of office xp (legal of course) in it place. all of office xp
works fine except outlook, every time i try to open it i get a popup saying
"unable to open default email folder- could not open item! try again" and i
click yes next popup states "wouldyou lik to open your default file system
folder instead" click yes again next popup states "runtime error- C:\program
files\microsoft office\office10\outlook.exe" so i type this in the run box
and it all repeats itself again and outlook still will not open. any help
please i miss my outlook i am using office xp 2002

Hi,
you know that Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2002 is not compatible?

yes i am,
as stated i removed 0ffice 2003 and installed my 2002 office xp on my
computer, and the only thing that won't work is the outlook, it will not
openi am using windows xp home edition, any ideals please. thanks

If your mail profile contains a reference to the OL 2003-format PST, create
a new PST in Control Panel's Mail applet and add it to the profile as the
delivery location.

how do i check mail profile to see what it cantains? and can this be done
without opening outlook, as i said it will not open and the pst repair file
from micrsoft string in the run box states that it cant find that file. i
even reloaded my office as well as downloaded a file from ms for the c++
visual runtime library still no luck. can u help

I answered that already. In Control Panel, using the Mail applet.
