Outlook window size

I always open and use Outlook (2003) in 'Normal Window' size. And when I
double click on emails they also open as 'normal windows'.

However, the first time I click on reply and open a new (create) email, the
resultant windows always open maximised. I change them to 'normal window'
size and everything is then ok for the rest of the session. However, the
next time I open Outlook, the same happens all over again.

I've never experienced this with other versions of Outlook.

Can anyone please suggest a solution?

Thanks,

V

Has no-one really any ideas about this?

For anyone who has the same problem, I have now discovered that this problem
is caused by ticking the box which makes Word the Outlook email editor. The
window sizes are then determined by the size that Word is set to.

So, I could either overcome my problem by using Word set to a smallish
normal window - but I find this too small for documents - or deselect Word
as the email editor - but this leads to other email problems and
complicatiuons.

In the end, I decided to just put up with the original annoyance - it was
the lesser of two evils!
