Outlook Window size

When I open Outlook (2007 office version) it always opens in maximized size.
I do not want to open the window maximized. How do I get the window to
remember a smaller size and open in that size every time?

Right click on the Outlook icon on desktop and select Properties. In the Run window select Normal with the down arrow and then Apply

Thanks for your response. However, even after clicking "Normal Window" and
applying it, I continue to get a maximized window. Is my Oulook software
corrupted?

Then try and grab the bottom right corner of the Outlook window when open and drag it back up towards the centre to make it smaller or to the size of your liking.

Let us know how you made out

You can not grab any dimension of a maximized window to reduce the window
size. Oddly enough, when the window is maximized I can right click the open
incon in the tray, click restore and it brings the Outlook window back down
to Normal window size. Also, when the Oulook window is first opening it
starts in the normal size then immediately jumps to maximized size. It seems
to me that I have seen this issue before and correcting it required reloading
something, but I cannot remember what. Thanks for looking into this. Let me
know if you have any further thoughts. Maybe I need to reload my Outlook
program, although I am not sure how to do that.

after resizing it, close outlook. wait a min or so then look in task manager
(processes tab) and see if outlook.exe is listed. if its not, the window
size should be remembered when you reopen outlook. if it is listed, its not
shutting down properly and that's why the window size isn't remembered.

Outlook.exe does not appear as still running in Task Manager processes after
shut down. Any other ideas? It starts-up in the Normal size window as long as
I don't open any new e-mails or similar tasks while Outlook is running. For
example, I can start Oulook up and shut it down as long as I do nothing else
and it will come up in a normal size window every time. But as soon as I
perform any other Outlook function it comes up in a maximized window. That's
part of why I think my Outlook program may be corrupt.

The open messages open in full size windows? Open a new message widow,
resize the window and close it. They should all open the new size now.

if you want, you can run office diagnostics. it's on the help menu.

This does not solve the problem. I am convinced it is an Outlook shut-down
and Start-up issue. Also, I have already run the office diagnostics program
and it came up absolutly clean. The basic issue is: Outlook simply will not
come up in a Normal size window, no matter what I do to the program. Thanks
for your thoughts.

You can also double click in the title bar to restore the non-maxed size.

Check your addins - tools, trust center, addins. something there may be
causing it.
