Outlook will not open

This morning I came in an attempted to open my Outlook 2007. The title
window comes up initially but as the program window begins to open it stops
and an window with a circled red X comes up saying, " Cannot start Microsoft
Outlook Office. Cannot open Outlook window." Any thoughts on how this can
be repaired.

Is that the full extent of the error message? Since the error is the key to
resolving the problem, the exact and complete error message is required.

What type of mail account? Have you verified that Outlook.exe is not running
in the processes tab of your Task Manager?

I had the exact same message this morning and Outlook worked fine last night.
The full extent of the error message is exactly as mcmtrader typed it. I
also confirmed that OL is NOT running in the Process tab of the Task Manager.
I use only AOL as my email. ONly new App added was the BlackBerry desktop
manager for my BB 8330 Curve.
How can I get OL 2007 to open?

Try opening Outlook with the /resetnavpane switch as the first step in
troubleshooting:

Start > Run > outlook.exe /resetnavpane
(note the space between outlook.exe and /resetnavpane)

Vista/Windows 7

Start > Start Search > outlook.exe /resetnavpane
(same space)
