I am using Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access for Microsoft Exchange
Server 2007. I dropped an email into the calendar and now have a (1)
for the unread item. How can I find and open this item?

TIA

Do they not show in the Unread Mail folder? Can you not change your
calendar to a table view and locate them that way?

I can't find a way to view in a table in OWA and OWA is the only access
I have to this system.

Open your Contacts folder in OWA. At the very top you'll see the View
selector. Right now, it probably says "Address Cards". There will be a
small down-arrow just to its right. Pick a table view, like Phone List,
with that View selector and then scroll through looking for the item. I
tried moving a mail item to my COntacts and it worked. The Phone List view
showed me my moved item at the very top.

In Contacts the only selections I have are:
[New] [Show/Hide Reading Pane] [Single Line] [Delete] [Check messages]
[ New Message] [New meeting request to Contacts] [Edit]

In Calendar the only options I have are:
[New] [Show/Hide Reading Pane] [Today] [Day] [Work Week View] [Week
View] [Delete] [Check Messages]

Obviously my brain was malfunctioning when I replied to this before and I
substituted "Contacts" for "Calendar". Forgive my error, please. You're
correct. There appears to be no way in OWA to show the calendar in a table
view.
