I am using Vista and outlook. When traveling I have problems sending email.
I can receive it from others, but can not send it. I have disabled my
McAfee mail outbournd scanning, but still not working (also didnt reboot
yet). But when I return home, things are fine. Things have been fine until
the other day. Been trying to send. error message is:
telling me that I need to recheck the address or host IP is not valid

email scanning encountered a problem. This email message could not be sent.
After you verify the format of your reciepient's addresses, McAfee
recommends that you re-send those messages from your email program

Command sent: RCPT TO <my email address>
Command Received: 550 5.7.1 <my emailaddress>...Relaying denied. IP name
lookup failed

Anyone help me out ?

Thanks, John

You're not authenticating properly to your outbound server. You must use
the SMTP server of the service to which you are connected.

Also, if you're still getting messages that say "McAfee recommends", then it
seems you really haven't disabled mail scanning. Uninstall McAfee and
reinstall without the mail scanning feature.
