Outlook Views

Could someone please point me in the direction of some definitive
information on Outlook 2000/2/3 views on public folders?

I have been struggling to make sense of the setting up of these for
some time. Sometimes I can set up the views I need, other times they
seem to save but then are not there. Sometimes when I try to save a
modified view I get 'View Not Found' errors. Clearing all hidden
messages from the relevant folder does not help. I have tried MS help
(at cost I may add) and been told they did not have much idea of how
views worked!!!

Is there any 'view expert' out there???

I've probably spent as much time working with views as anyone. A key issue is setting the scope of the view when you create it -- the choices of "on this folder, visible to everyone" etc. Get that wrong, and the view won't be there when you need it. Also, only the folder owner can set views on a public folder.
