Outlook VERY SLOW when opening messages

In my company LAN there is an Exchange 2000 server withsome Windows2000 Pro
and Outlook 2000 clients.
Some of them have an issue with extreme slow e-mail messages opening.
The message preview is perfect, really fast; when they try to open the
message double clicking on it it lasts 3-5 seconds before the message window
opens.
Outlook is even slow when opening the program, about 2-3 seconds while in
other clients it takes just 1 second.

How can I solve this issue (and don't have my pals dont' complaying anymore
about it )?

Please help me!

We have a similar problem where I work. However, we do
not have an exchange server. The problem we discovered
was the settings of our virus program. Everytime someone
went to open a message within Outlook it could take up to
5 mins to open. The reason was that all the messages were
being scanned by the virus program. Once we turned it off
open messages was normal.

Thanks for your reply Sara. Unfortunately our case is different. Client
Antivirus don't scan for e-mail. Mails are scanned at Exchange Server by a
mail server antivirus.
Furthermore the problem arises only for some of our clients. I guess there
must be something concerning with local Outlook Application Data. Maybe
there is a command for resetting Outlook settings, but I don't know it.
