Outlook sub folders where did they go???

I exported my contacts, folders, and sub folders to a file. I then
reformated my hard drive and then imported my contacts, folders but the
subfolders did not import, where did they go? or what did I do wrong?????
 
What you did wrong: using export and import. You should have just copied the
pst to backup media and copied it back after reformatting.

If you open the exported file in outlook (file, open menu) do you see the
subfolders?
