Advice requested -

Outlook 2003 will not open. Error messages:
(a) This application is not a Windows image; check your installation disk
(b) Unable to load McAfee add-in...

Other messages:
(a) A DLL file may be missing
(b) Try starting in safe mode (doesn't help)

Brief history: Outlook worked well for about a year. About a month ago the
icon disappeared from the wallpaper where other application icons are. We
got the icon back and could open Outlook, but it became more and more unable
to open.

Outlook is loaded with Windows XP Home Edition on a Dell Dimension 2400
desktop. We didn't receive an installation disk with the computer.

Any ideas?

Yes you did. Dell ALWAYS distributes installation CDs with their PCs.
