Outlook Startup Very Slow

This problem started 2 months ago. I'll try to be as precise as possible.
this started when i installed McAfee Spamkiller and trying to tweak some
settings. I noticed that laptop has been starting up really slow so i wanted
to diagnose the issue and so i launched msconfig and disabled all
non-microsoft services and startups and i restarted my laptop. then the next
time, obviously, none of McAfee products were running since i had disabled
all their services. I tried launching outlook 2003 (that was working fine
till now) but it didnt startup even in 10 mins...then i ended it thru task
manager...then i launched again..this time it asked me to do so in safe
mode.. safe mode didnt work either...and then detect and repair and that
didnt work either...so i uninstalled Mcafee Spamkiller..that didnt work..then
i went to Mcafee support site and their engineer gave me a utility that
completely removes spamkiller...i did so...nothing worked...

So then...as my last resort..i restored my laptop to a previous date using
system restore...and my outlook worked fine...but with this also came back
Spamkiller...as spamkiller was installed while this restore point was
created...so i uninstalled spamkiller...and then restarted laptop...Outlook
took 10 minutes to startup...in all modes (normal, safe, detect and
repair)... so i enabled all the disabled non-microsoft services....

so far 3 months have passed and i m still unable to get my outlook to work
properly...
Outlook starts but then it hangs for 10 mins and then it starts running
normal...
when i launch outlook and monitor outlook.exe in the task manager processes
it is stuck...no CPU utilization or no increase memory...

So far i have tried following
uninstalling office and reinstalling
reinstalling spamkiller and uninstalling
deleting my profile
using another profile
deleting all email accounts
creating a new email profile
disabling all add ons and com addins
trying diff accounts (pop, exchange, http)

now i have uninstalled spamkiller permanently

i m using windows Xp...1GB Ram..Sp2...Office 2003 with SP2 and my windows is
updated to date...i have 2 POP accounts and 1 exchange account...my company
uses exchange 2k3 server.

Please help....this is longest any problem has ever taken in my life!!

let me know if mroe information is needed..

Close Outlook. Find and rename outcmd.dat to .old. (If using Windows 2000
or XP, you will need to enable searching hidden and system folders.)

Once you have done so, reopen Outlook and it should open fine. You will
need to rebuild any custom toolbars or customizations as the file outcmd.dat
controls how the toolbars display. When it becomes corrupted, it will cause
Outlook to hang because it cannot create the toolbars that you expect.

Hi,

Also, if the above doesnt work, try renaming the extend.dat file in your
system. Restart computer and check if Outlook opens up fine.
Besides that, back up the registry and delete the following keys.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Addins
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Addins

Restart the computer and try opening Outlook.

Thanks,

Mittu
