Outlook spell checker reverting corrections in replys and forwards

When I reply or forward a message with Outlook 2003, and run a spell check
(either independent of sending or after asking it to send), Outlook will go
through the spell check process and correct the words on my screen. However,
when it's received, all the errors are present. Spell check works fine with
new emailsI create. I have reimaged the system and the error disappeared for
a few days but has returned. Someone else uses this computer as well so I am
checking with him about any installed programs or updates that were done and
I will update this post with any additional information. Any ideas about this?

what sp and patches do you have installed? That it returns tells me it may
be related to an update.

Does it happen on all message formats or just plain text or rtf?

It's running Vista Home basic and has been updated as of 3 days ago (I don't
have the laptop in front of me to be more specific). It's Outlook 2007, not
2003 as I was misinformed originally and I'm still waiting to get more
information about updates and newly installed programs. I've checked through
Microsoft's Knowledge base and this hasn't been reported there (or through
any google or yahoo searches) so I thought it might be related to a specific
program he's installed since it's reimage. Hopefully I'll get more
information today. I will also check the format that he's emailing in.

check the format- there is a known issue with 2007 and plain text.
