Outlook Spam filter confused by Exchange?

I just started working at a new company where they use Exchange. My
desktop version of Outlook is identical to that on my laptop, Outlook 2003
with all the latest patches, etc. I configured my desktop to retrieve mail
from my ISP, Comcast.

The odd thing is, that with these two computers side by side, the spam gets
through to my desktop, but gets filtered from my laptop. (Desktop is set to
leave a copy on the server, so ALL mail goes to my laptop, regardless of
whether it's delivered to the desktop.)

So, what's different about my laptop version of Outlook that the filter
works
better? The settings are identical? Does it have something to do with the
Exchange server? Is there an Microsoft add-in that I might have installed
some time ago and simply forgot to add to the desktop. I know no one
could answer that, but just wondering if anyone has seen this behavior
before.

Are both set to the same junk filtering level? Does the exchange server use
IMF for junk email? Are there group policies in place that could be
affecting it?

Well, I know the application junk mail settings are the same ... identical.
Not sure what is happening at the Exchange level, but I was wondering
if perhaps Outlook allows through that is stamped as "OK" by Exchange.

Understand, I'm making this up as I go. I have no idea if Exchange is doing
anything to affect it. If there are network/domain group policies, I don't
know what they are, but of course, they wouldn't affect my laptop, so that
could be the issue. It's just a nusiance. I can live with it, but was
curious.

Thanks for your reply
