Hi all.
I have installed OFFICE SP3, and now when I open a new email msg appears an
annoing msg "a program is trying to read your address book"...
I have found that the cause of this is that I use MS WORD as editor for
email and I have installed a FULL VERSION of ACROBAR. I build PDF not only
read them.
On the net I have found that the solution of my problem may be :

1) DisableWORD as email editor (it works but I want to use it)
2) Disable all PDF add-in in WORD

well I have found a "PDFmaker.dot" add-in in my WORD, I have found that it
is loaded in WORD startup, and I HAVE REMOVED THE FILE "PDFmaker.dot", .....
but the problem is still here.

Any idea ?

Thanks toall

It's a known issue with SP3; security has been updated to more closely match
the security in Outlook 2003. Disabling Word as your e-mail editor is one
workaround, as you have seen. You also may be able to update some of your
add-ins, especially virus scanners and spam filters (many major
manufacturers have already released compatible updates). See the following
articles for more information:

Hi,

I am having the same problem, and according to KB article 290500, it sounds
like this is an issue without an immediate workaround? (Every time I synch I
get the message asking if I want to allow access). Is anybody aware of any
workaround (registry hacks etc) wherby you can allow access to a given list
of programs? Has anybody managed any other workarounds?

Any help much appreciated!

Did you look at the two articles I gave the URLs for in my last reply? Go
to the first one and look for the "ClickYes" link. You can also look at the
following article for more information on the Automation Security prompt:

Hi there,

Yeah - I had a look at them, but the main focus seemed to be on
programming - either using the supplied programs to automatically click yes
every time, or use the supplied code to program yourself what you wanted to
do. The link http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup/admin.htm seems to
look ok, but as I'm not an exchange administrator, some of it is beyond me -
I've passed this link on however, and will let you know how the issue
progresses.

Many thanks for your help,

Hi,

Seemingly the fix specified below will not work in conjunction with
ActiveSynch and a third party product that we use. As far as I can tell,
the only way around this is the 'yesclick' program, for which some C source
is supplied, and attempting to add relevant code that recognises the process
that results in the message?

cheers,

I'm not very familiar with the ClickYes program personally as I don't use
it, but if all else fails, that may be your only option for now.
