Outlook SMTP Sending Errors

Guest

Below is one are the error messages I get when sending/receiving. I have 2
domains that both receive email through my Outlook2003 program with MS XP.
(Earthlink SMTP with Sprint Broadband). One domain goes through just fine,
the other (my default) gets one of these messages shown below.

The other thing is...I don't have an email in my outgoing email folder and
it says "sending message 1 of 1" before the error comes up. Where is it
getting the idea that there is an email to be sent?

When I DO have mail to be sent, it will error a couple times or more but
then eventually sends it. Does anyone know what is going on?

Task 'pop.lorigreenberg.com - Sending' reported error (0x8004210B) : 'The
operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If
you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or
Internet service provider (ISP).'

Task 'pop.lorigreenberg.com - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC67) : ' The
server responded: 421 pop-tawny.atl.sa.earthlink.net: Too many concurrent
SMTP connections from one IP address; please try again later.'

Are you using the EarthLink SMTP? It's a requirement.

Do you have a read receipt trying to send?

Hi Diane.

Yes, I'musing the Earthlink SMTP.

I downloaded the Outlook Spy and followed the directions up until the
GetContentsTable tab. There was nothing in mine so I didn't have anything to
delete.

Did I miss a step?

Someone did send me a receipted email this week (I don't usually get them)
and I did respond yes to send it. So maybe it's out there somewhere else?

is the account that may have the receipt configured to use EarthLink's SMTP?
if not, change it to use EarthLink (tools, accounts, view or change...
select the account and choose change. change the authentication as needed) -
then it should send.

Yes, it's set up for outgoing mail server = smtp.earthlink .net It does not
require authentication, and that is not checked in the more settings>outgoing
server tab.

Is that what you were asking?

Yes. I have no idea what it's trying to do, as it would send if there were
something to send.
