Can't send Comcast mail with Windows Mail on Vista laptop

L

Lee M.

I have set up a Windows Mail account on my Vista Home Premium laptop using
the same parameters I use in Outlook to receive my Comcast email on my
desktop. I have successfully received a message but get an error message
when trying to send. The error message says "server response: '421 connot
connect to SMTP server 76.xx.xx.xx (shows an actual IP address), connect
server error 10060', Port:25, Secure (SSL): no, server error: 421 error
number 0x800CCC67.

What do I need to do to be able to send email from Windows Mail via the
Comcast mail server?

How is this an Outlook question? Ask Comcast.

Comcast has blocked your port 25 access. Use port 587 instead. You have to
configure MS Outlook for, "My server requires authentication".
