Outlook should let me remove duplicate emails without creating new

I'm running Office Outlook 2003 SP1, and I've somehow got lots of duplicate
e-mails in my mail.

Some came from importing the same messages twice fro OUTLOOK EXPRESS [I
recently upgraded to OUTLOOK 2003], while others come from my mailservers
resending the same messages again [no idea why].

I asked MS Support to help me, and they stepped me through the process of
creating a new .PST file and then reimporting all of my old messages from OE
and my old Outlook Profile [.PST] with the setting "do not import
duplicates". It worked great, and I never had any of the duplicates. The
problem, however, was that I now suffered from missing mail settings, rules,
alerts, and the like. I've slowly managed to drag all of that stuff back in -
either manually - or importing, and I think [holding thumbs] everything is
almost back to normal.

Now, for another inexplicable reason, my mailservers are sending me the same
messages again, which means more duplicates! I certainly do NOT want to go
through the process of recreating a new .PST file and reimporting everything,
since last time I might have lost one or two contacts, rules / alerts, etc.
and I don't want to run the risk of this happening again. Not to mention that
it takes a heckuva long time to reimport everything :-(

Surely there's a simpler way to remove duplicated e-mails from OUTLOOK 2003
than to do this whole process of 'outlook /cleanpst' etc.? I seem to remember
OUTLOOK EXPRESS offered a simple option to remove all duplicate messages, but
that was so long ago and I might just have imagined it in my vain attempts to
resolve my current plight!

I'd love to know if there is an easy way to remove these recurring duplicate
messages without having to create a new profile (.PST) file every time?

Take our Duplicate Email Remover add-in! Add-in is intended for search
and processing of duplicated mail messages in Microsoft Outlook folders.
It can find duplicate messages both in one folder and in different
folders. The found messages can be marked, deleted, copied or moved to
any folder you choose.
