Outlook Outlook sent items dissaper

i have a laptop
having composed numerouse emails offline in outlook when i am away from the office.when i connect to the server at work the emails are sent automatically and dissapear from sent items/drafts on the laptop
my question is were do they go once sent and i really need a copy of them in sent items on the laptop to keep as evidance.
