outlook send/receive progress dialog box

When outlook does a send recieve, i now get an "outlook send/receive progress
dialog box. there are no errors being reported.

There is a check box that says don't show this dialog box during
send/recieve, i have that box checked yet I still get the dialog box.

I looked at options and don't see how to get rid of this dialog box.

I'm using Outlook 2002 (10.3513.3501) sp1

First I would start by upgrading your system to the current patch. Outlook
2002 is using SP 3 as the patches resolved a number of issue of this sort.

I did this, downloaded and installed SP3 for office. Same problem. Other
than wanting it solved, the question is why did it mysteriously?
