Outlook Send Error Message

I have been having difficulties sending emails - quite often they sit
in my outbox and don't move to my sent box until I send them a second
time. I finally received an error message stating:

Incoming

An outlook express store file may be damaged Please use a utility such
as scan disk to verify and repair any damaged files.

Protocol smtp port 0 secure ssl no error number 0x800c0155

How can I fix this? Our IT person says I am storing too many emails!

compact your message store.

For future reference OE (Outlook Express) is not the same as Microsoft
Outlook. This newsgroup supports Microsoft Outlook. OE is part of Internet
Explorer so post in the OE newsgroup. It raises your chances of getting a
correct OE answer.
