Outlook Screen Flashes Active/Inactive - Can't type a message or pull down menu

In Outlook, the screen flashes from Active (blue) to inactive (gray)
every 5 seconds (like when you switch from one application window to
another). I am not touching keyboard or mouse. When I do try to work
with it, I can't type more than a few characters before it goes
inactive and stops registering my keystrokes. Anyone else heard of
this? I have a Logitech keyboard and MSFT Wireless Intellimouse
Explorer 2.0. Is it a keyboard/mouse problem or the Outlook 2003
application or other? Thanks

That sounds like an intermittent (annoyingly so) problem with Logitech's
mouse/keyboard software. I've experienced exactly the same thing here (with
a Logitech cordless mouse), but it's hard to pin down what causes it to
happen.

Next time it does, though, you can verify that it's the fault of Logitech's
software by exiting that software from the system tray. I'm betting once
you do, the active/inactive window problem will instantly go away.

Thanks for your suggestion. However, The flashing seems to still be
happening. I have updated the Logitech software but that didn't do it
either. I may contact Logitech. Any other suggesstions would be much
appreciated. Wow that flasing is buggin me. Thanks

I have a PC with the exact same problem but with a wired mouse, not wireless.
The thing just sits there and alternates on it's own. Outlook is the only
application that this happens in (all other MS apps are fine). Anyone?!?

I am now having this exact same problem. I have a wireless Logitech mouse
and a microsoft keyboard. I was wondering if it might be an old Adobe
Acrobat 6 thing. I have reinstalled Microsoft Office 2003, I have
uninstalled Outlook, reinstalled Outlook and It worked fine for 2 days and
then started flashing again. Any response or fix that you found?
