Is there a limit to how many rules one can have? and if
so is there a way to adjust that limit?

Not exactly a limit on how many rules, but a limit on how many characters
can be in all rules combined. I think it's either 32,000 or 64,000.

Doesn't this depend on your version of Outlook?

All versions of Outlook only support 32K worth of rules. The only difference
among versions is that text in rules is stored as Unicode in Outlook 2003 so
you end up with fewer rules in Outlook 2003.
