Outlook Rues

I

Irene Gaffigan

I am using Outlook 2003 on my desktop and also on my laptop. I have rules
set up and they work fine on my desktop, I exported the rules to my laptop
and they are there, but do not work. I have the same folders set up on both
computers and really need the rules to be working properly on the laptop.

Thanks in advance.

Irene

Since you imported it from another machine it could be that the rule is
marked to only run on another machine. Also you'll need to reassign the
folders specified in the rule.

Thank you for your reply, but I am a bit confused, can you give me the
instructions on what I need to do or send me to the right place on the net
for further instructions.

thanks
Irene

You need to use Tools-> Rules and Alerts for this. Here you'll see the full
rule. When the rule doesn't state "on a different machine" you're fine and
only have to set the right folder to move the mail to (even when it already
looks like it points to the right folder).
