I am using Outlook 2000 XP on a Windows 2000 system. I connect via a phone
line. Everytime I want to send or receive mail in outlook, I must go to
tooks, e-mail account, view or change existing account, change and then add
my password, click next and then finish. Then click on send/receive button
again. If I am lucky, it will start to download my mail. Sometimes, it just
gives me an error. I have talked with my provider and confirmed that
everything is configured correctly. Someone told me the problem was the
Norton SystemWorks I have installed on my computer. Is anyone else having
these type of problems?

I'm using Outlook 2000 and receive messages just fine.
However, my ISP just started requiring authentication for
outgoing messages, and Outlook won't save my password, so
every time I open Outlook, I have to go through the
Tools/Accounts/Change thing, re-enter the passwords (I
have four e-mail accounts). When I through checking
messages, if I minimize Outlook it will hold the
passwords, but if I close it out, I have to go through
the procedure the next time I open Outlook.

I've tried the Knowledge Base, tried the solutions
offered there by changing stuff in the Registry, but the
procedures suggested there somehow cannot be completed,
so I don't know what to do next...

If you solve the problem, please let me know!
