Hey all. I tried archiving my email and received the
following message:
"Error while archiving folder "Read" in store "Personal
Folders". The file C:\WINDOWS\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst could not be accessed.
Access is denied."

Can anyone tell me why this may have happened and how I
may fix it? I used to have a program to fix the
outlook.pst file, however I can't recall where it is any
longer.

Thanks in advance.
Anthony

How big is the archive.pst file? How many items are in the folder that's
giving you the error (I guess that would be the "Read" folder)?

I don't know how large my archive.pst file, however my
outlook.pst file is large, over 1.5gb. Does this help?

Well, the outlook.pst file is approaching the 2GB limit (assuming you're
using Outlook 2002 or earlier, or at least that's where the .PST was
created)...and that could cause problems like you're describing. You should
find the archive file and check the size there as well. As far as the
outlook.pst file goes, you should definitely start purging any unneeded data
from it to keep it well below the 2GB limit...try deleting items you truly
don't need and see if that helps get rid of the error message.
