Outlook.pst file contains an exact replica...

of my Personal Folders. When I receive an email, create a meeting, add a
contact, it is automatically repliated in a replica Personal Folders
directory. I don't know why this is happening. I have tried to create a new
PST file, and the same thing happens. Can someone tell me how to fix this?

It's possibly just a ghost. Try creating a new profile and then import your
old items into it.

I tried that. Unfortunately, the new profile also created a ghost.

see if running outlook with the /ResetFolders command-line switch helps.

How, exactly, did you create the new profile? It's done in Control
Panel>Mail>Show Profiles>Add.
