Outlook problems receiving mail on second computer

I have two desktop computers connected via a router. One of the computers
is, and has been used for e-mail and utilizes Outlook and has been configured
to recieve/send mail. I have had no problems with this for a long time but
now would like to configure the second computer (Outlook) to also
capture/send e-mail. After configuring Outlook on the second computer using
identical parameters that work on the first computer I get an error message
stating that there is a problem with the e-mail address field. I have
checked this and am sure the e-mail address field is accurate. When testing
the parameters, there is no problem with finding either the incoming or
outgoing server and in fact I can receive e-mail but cannot send as a result
of the e-mail address field error. Any suggestions on what might be causing
this and how to correct this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

Post the exact error message, state your version of Outlook, and your
account type.

Thanks Brian,
The error message is generated after I perform the Test Account Settings.
Error message: Send test e-mail: Unabel to send test message. Please verify
the e-mail address field.

As I mentioned the settings I am using on the second computer are identical
to those used on the first computer (which has always and continues to work
just fine)
After performing the Test Account settings.... the following results
Establish Network Connection: Completed
Find Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Completed
Find Incoming mail server (POP3): Completed
Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): Completed
Send test e-mail message: Failed

Account type: AT&T worldnet account (POP/SMTP)
Outlook version: Outlook 2002 (SP-2)

Any help will be appreciated - Thanks.

Including the authentication options for the outgoing server?

Yes, including the authentication options for the outgoing server. I've
double checked everything and tried this with another account to deduce if
there was something peculiar about the first e-mail account. I get the same
response error. I am able to receive mail which to me would indicate the
e-mail address field is accurate, isn't this logical or am I missing
something here.
Thanks.

All that means is that the username/password you're supplying to the POP
server is accurate and really has nothing to do with the mail address.

Any ideas as to what I need to do/try in order to get this to work?

Well, if I were faced with this, I'd start over with a fresh mail profile
(Control Panel>Mail>Show Profiles>Add), point it at my existing PST, and
re-add the email account.

I tried that it does not resolve the problem, I still get the same error
message regarding the need to verify the e-mail address field.

Hi Brian,
I checked my second computer and found it needed the MS Office ServicePak 3
update. Once I updated it, my problem was resolved.
