Outlook Passwords.... AGAIN!

I'm running Outlook 2003 on Windows XP HE. My network password is not being
saved and I'm prompted every few minutes. I recieve the following errors:

Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92): 'Your e-mail server rejected your
login. Verify your user name and password in your account properties. Under
Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server responded: -ERR Missing argument'

Sending' reported error (0x800CCC78): ' Unable to send the message. Please
verify the e-mail address in your account properties. The server responded:
550 5.7.1 Authentication Required'

I have review ALL the password posts in this group and have performed the
fix suggested in KB article 290684 to no avail. I've also done a Detect and
Repair on Outlook itselft.

Hopefully, someone knows the secret behind this problem.

Thanks for the help!

Jocelyn,

Interesting article, but why would I be able to use Outlook Express with the
SAME account settings to the same ISP's SMTP server without any problems?

Wondering if there's more....

Thanks,

Martin

You can also try deleting and re-adding the mail account to Outlook, or as a
last resort, create a new mail profile via Control Panel | Mail | Show
Profiles.
