Outlook password

Can someone tell me why Outlook on its own from time to time displays a
dialog asking for a password?
 
What kind of password? Network Password? Exchange Logon Password? PST
Password? Outlook version? Mail account type?
 
Sorry about that. Password when trying to get emails with Outlook.

This only happens occasionly and I have to check the remember password
option when it happens.

According SBC at&t it is in the settings for the server -- Under Outgoing
Server check -longon using user Name: (e-mail address removed), check remember
password.
