Outlook overwrites Outlook Express

I used Outlook Express for email and Outlook 2003 for the calendar.
When I installed Office 2003, it seemed to overright OE, so that when I
clicked on OE, Outlook came up. OE had disappeared. I had to uninstall
Office 2003 to get back OE.
How can one install Outlook 2003 (Office 2003) without wiping out OE?

Thanks, CMA

Office 2003 does not wipe out OE. I've never seen what you are experiencing
(not including Vista).
When you open Outlook for the first time, it asks if you want Outlook to be
the default mail application and you may have inadvertently selected that?

OE didn't go anywhere, though maybe the shortcuts got messed up. If you try
Outlook again, try Start-->Run-->msimn.exe to get OE.

Thanks, Bill, you were right. I reinstalled Office 2003. This time, when I
went into OE, it asked if I wanted it to be default mail client. I said
"yes" and problem was solved.
Best, CMA
