I have an HP Desktop DC7600, came installed with MS Office 2003. MS says it's
HP problem, HP says software warranty expired and should do System Restore. I
changed email service and despite the fact that all settings are correct,
ping to server OK, network working, cannot send nor receive with Outlook. I
used same settings with Outlook Express on another computer and works fine. I
did same with Outlook Express on my computer (used for first time) and
doesn't work. HP said that I may lose data with System Restore but when I
started System Restore it says no data would be lost (I will back up anyway).
Is this true?
Best to send as Pegsus and Newbie mentioned but read the links below and see
what you make of it.
Also best when you send a Q tell the exact Error message and the event which
make you lose connection like ( new software installed, new hardware Like you
mentioned a new Network/ISP, hardware like a Modem/Router).
Here are some Qs and As for Outlook

Another to try is while on Outlook Express:
Click Tools >> Options >. Click on Connections Tab and make sure these
settings correct:
Dial-Up
[ ] Ask before switching dial-up connections
Click on Settings for the connection and make sure the correct connection
(Default ) is selected .
again Click Tools >> Accounts >> Click on Servers Tab and make sure this
option not selected:
[ ] log on using Secure Password Authentication.
Click on Connection Tab and check this check box:
[ ] Always connect to this account using:
[ Local Area Network ][v]
Click [OK] to close and open a Run Command and type these command:
ipconfig /flushdns click [OK]
ipconfig /renew click [OK]
netsh winsock reset click [OK]
Reboot your machine and see.
How the Power saving Option on this machine set to and does the Dial on
Demand on the Router option checked or not, best if uncheck it.
