outlook office 2007 email problem

Christopher

I am sitting in my hotel room in India and connecting to my email provider
in the UK. I can receive email using Outlook Express 6 or Office Outlook
2007 but can only SEND using outlook express.

Task 'Christopher Lamb - Sending' reported error (0x800CCC80) : 'None of the
authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your
server.'

The settings seem to be identical and this did not happen with Office 2003.

As a further, less important point, is there any solution to only having
French as the spell checker on OE6 ?

The full error mesage is on original message below ..........

What is the complete error massage.

Also Office 2007 breaks the Spell Check in OE. The best way around this is
to install a 3rd party spell checker.

Some free spell check programs.

TinySpell:

Based on my research, this issue is mainly caused by the " My outgoing
server (SMTP) requires authentication " option is selected. So based on
current situation, I'd like to confirm whether you have checked this option.

Step 1: Disable " My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication " check
box
==================================================
1. Click Tools ? Account Settings, double-click the current email account.

2. Click More Settings, choose Outgoing Sever tab.

3. Please disable the check box of " My outgoing server (SMTP) requires
authentication ".

4. Restart Outlook and then check the issue once again.

What's the result now? If it does not work, please let me know

If the OP is in his hotel room in India, as per his post, then it's highly
probable that he MUST authenticate his smtp server otherwise he won't be
able to send...

I carried out your instruction and from my room at the Leela Kempinski in
Mumbai, I am now able to send using Outlook 2007.. Strangely, within
Outlook Express, the box is checked and it still sends?

I honestly thought that it did need authentication.

Thanks
