Outlook not starting

I have a user that cannot start Outlook. Every time he starts it he
gets "Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to shut
down. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Then it says to save your
work and you have the option to send a report or not to send a report.
I don't know why this is happening. I repaired the office installation,
this didn't work. I uninstalled and reinstalled it and guess what, no
help.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

This is Office 2000 and I DID do all this under the admin account.

Try deleting or renaming %UserProfile%\Local Setings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outcmd.dat and %AppData%\Microsort\Outlook\extend.dat
.. Try using the Inbox Repair Tool
(%COmmonProgramFiles%\system\MSMAPI\1033\SCANPST.EXE for a U.S. English
installation) to scan the PST, if you use one.

This didn't work but I did get a different error regarding another mail
program. I just installed thunderbird on that computer so I
uninstalled it and will keep you informed if this was the problem.

So I figured out that it must be something with the user account
because I logged in and opened Outlook and setup my email to work and
it worked just fine.
