outlook not responding

I get an error message that says that outlook is not responding. If i am
using an exchange server, I can cancel pending requests. What does that mean?
I don't think that my email is using an exchange server!

"I don't think that my email is using an exchange server!"

This should be certain. If you are using an Exchange Server your e-mail
account is configured for it.

What version of Outlook are you using ?
