Outlook not responding

Last night, when I opened up my Outlook, I got a pop up saying that I have to
wait while Windows configures my XP Professional. It then asks that I put in
my copy of Office Professional XP. I do, then it does some searching and
then I get an error message, stating:

Error 1304. Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Common
Files\System\Mapi\1033\ESCONF.dll. Verify that you have access to that
directory.

I've done virus scans and have cleaned up and nothing is working. I can't
access e-mail or do anything. Anyone know what this is or what caused it and
most importantly, how to fix it...if I can. THanks.

You might try a detect & repair on Office (add/remove programs) - you will
need your installation media. In the meantime, I suggest making a backup of
your PST file(s) just in case something gets really hosed - you ought to be
backing it up regularly anyway.
