When Outlook polls my ISP for mail, it says, for example, 4 messages are
being downloaded. Yet only 2 show up in my inbox. And I can't find my spam
folder in Outlook. Nothing is in the spam folder. What gives? I am missing
email.

You didn't include any configuration details to help you any further.

I am using Office 2007 Beta version 12.0.4017.1006 on a Windows PC. Let me
know if you need more info and thanks.

When you look at your webbased mail client provided by your ISP do 4
messages show up?

No. After Outlook polls it, the web-based email interface on the ISP server
shows up empty.

Configure Outlook to leave a copy on the server or check your mailbox by
using the web interface before Outlook. We can then determine if there is
actually mail getting lost or that it just indicate a wrong number of mails
to be downloaded.

Will do. Give me a day or two and I'll get back to you. Thanks.

I checked the "save messages on server" box but the problem continues. After
Outlook told me it was downloading 3 messages, none of them actually appeared
afterwards in my inbox. I checked my ISP's UNIX mail server outside of
Windows using the PINE command, and it too showed no email. So I think this
is an Outlook problem, no? Thanks for your help!

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
I just upgraded from O2K to O2003. I read the emails on the mail server web
interface, but when I pull them into Outlook they are GONE. No filters,
junk, no nothing --- where are they?
What is up????
