Outlook Newsreader goes missing

Barry

I have the News button on the standard toolbar but pressing it takes me to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\SYSTEM\MSMAPI\1033 instead of starting up the
Outlook Newsreader.
Outlook express works OK and, after enabling it to be the default reader, I
can then use thye Outlook reader again until I re-enable it to be the
default. At that point the link to C:\Program Files\Common
Files\SYSTEM\MSMAPI\1033 re-appears.

Can anyone help me get rid of this please?

Thanks

Barry

This is the most frequently posted question in this group:
To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control Panel |
Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook Express. If
OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next time you launch
it, clear the "Always perform this check..." box and then click the No
button.

That's solved it. Many thanks
