Outlook Newbee Lets See who can fix this one

T

Thomas Grassi

This is the fourth time posting this and no one seems to know what to do or
how to fix this problem I hope some one can figure this one out

Again I have to ask this question see below.

I have Office XP Outlook 2002 SP3
Ever since I changed ISP providers I keep getting the account signon screen
asking me to save the password I check the box every time and it keeps
coming up. Do I need to create a new profile? I exported all my email and
was going to delete the account and try again but will that work or do I
need to create another profile?

All I did was change the properties on the Email Accounts when I changed the
ISP provider

I deleted my account and profile. Then I created a new profile and POP3
account.
And it still happens.

Any help would be great

Thanks

Tom

If you are still having problems after applying both the SP 1 & 2 patches,
then see if this article addresses your problemL

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, Thomas Grassi asked:

I followed the instructions but it will not let me delete the reg subkey SID
I checked the permissions and the account I am logged onto has full
permissions

Do I need to be in safe mode or something to delete this key or logon as
another user?

I am the only account on the computer.

Thanks

I have the answer to this one. When you go into your email accounts to
change information, you will see the dialog box asking for your information.
Look at the Logon information area and just below that there is a check box
that asks if you want to log on using Secure Password Authentication. (SPA)
Be sure that is unchecked and your situation will not repeat. I think this
will do it. Can you answer my questions about safe mode in outlook and what
it's benefits and negatives are?

That box is not and never has been checked try again.

The challenge is still posted.....
