I work in the public Safety industry as a firefighter and Emergency Medical
Technician. Most people in my field work on a schedule called a Kelly Shift.
A "shift" is defined as one 24 hour work period. Mine is from 0600 to 0600,
but that can vary. The way a kelly shift breaks down is:
work a shift - off a shift - work a shift - off a shift - work a shift - off
4 shifts - repeat
A "rotation" is the period between your 4 shifts off when you're working.
Each rotation is made up of the 3 shifts you work and the 2 you are off.
Kind of confusing and maybe a little hard to understand? Yes, and it is just
as hard to enter this schedule into Outlook. Outlook does not allow you to
set such a "reoccurance" which makes it very hard to enter my work schedule.
I have searched for an Add-In of some sort with no luck. I would LOVE to see
Microsoft allow a user to enter wider variety of work patterns on their
calendar, or anything to fix my problem.
I use Microsoft Outlook 2003 SP1.
