Outlook locks up

i am having a problem with mircosoft outlook 2000 everytime that i get on in
about 30sec the whole program locks up and freezes the only thing that i can
do is exit what could be my problem and is there any way that i can fix it
without reinstalling????

ok well i tried that and it didn't work i'm afraid that my only thing to do
is reinstall office will i loose all my e-mails???

No, but do a backup first: Check this page for all you need to know:

You might also try running SCANPST.EXE (Inbox repair tool) against your
..PST file. You might have a corrupted item in there.
