outlook keep on downloading same emails many times

I recently reformated my computer and reinstalled my office
2000. I have a few pop3 email accounts that I have put in
my outlook.

When I check the mail, Outlook keeps on downloading all the
email even I already have a copy retrieved from previous
checking. SO I end up with a few copies of similar emails
in the folder.

Milion dollars question is how I could stop that from
happening?

Please help.
 
Try the following. In Outlook select Tools then Email Accounts then click
Next then Change then More Settings and finaley Advanced. Make sure that
the box is unchecked that say's "Leave copy of Messages on server".
