outlook items open in background - why?

Hello there,

I have a user who has Windows XP Pro (SP3) and uses Outlook 2007 (SP1).
For a week or so now, she has been having a problem opening anything in
Outlook. She opens an e-mail, or calendar item, or contact, and they appear
in the background. Her Outlook stays in the foreground and she has to do
ALT+TAB in order to see what she just opened.

I can't seem to find any info on this. Would any of you have experience
with this problem?

Try opening Outlook in safe mode: Start > Run > outlook.exe /safe to see if
the behaviour changes. If it does, it's likely an Add In is at fault so
check the list. Plaxo is a known cause of this type of behaviour.

If you don't see Plaxo, open Outlook normally and disable all Add Ins. Add
them back one at a time, testing inbetween to find the culprit.
