Outlook issues when connected to PDA

I have a PC that is connected to and iPaq with active sync all works well.

My outlook has 2 profiles when I open outlook it pops up a profile box so I
can choose which
email account I want to see.

The issue is that when I connect my iPaq and view an email account outlook
stays in memory when I close it down.
This means that the profile box will not appear again until I remove the
ipaq or stop the outlook process running using task manager.

Is there any way to stop this from happening.

This is a known issue where ActiveSync isn't releasing Outlook. Not sure
which version of ActiveSync you are using, but 3.8 just came out and haven't
had a chance to try it yet to see if it resolves the issue.
