Hi...

How do we configure Outlook so that it recieves email instead of
outlook express ?

At the moment outlook express is doing it, this is because when i
recently reinstalled the ntl broadband ... the ntl techie said that I
should be using outlook express rather than outlook.

I've transferred the email accounts over to outlook from express (no
problem)...

At the moment both prog's are accessible... but only express is
recieving new email.

I'm running winxp on sp 2...Microsoft Outlook 2002.

Thanks in anticipation...

Hi,

If Outlook and Outlook Express are both configured correctly, you can change the default email program by opening Internet Explorer, clicking on Tools > Internet Options, clicking on the
Programs tab and selecting Microsoft Outlook from the dropdown box next to Email.

Please note that as long as Outlook Express is configured with the account information for your email, opening the program will allow the email to be downloaded into Outlook Express.

Not entirely true. You can also leave the account in Outlook Express, but
uncheck the "Include this account when checking for new messages" option in
the account properties.

Thanks, Scott and Brian...

the check box "include this account when checking for new messages" now
duly unchecked...

end of problem...as you remarked.

cheers guys...
