Outlook has encountered a problem and must restart

We have several users that will get an error when reading
an email or saving an email with an attachment and it will
state "outlook has encountered a problem and must
restart". We have identical workstations and have tried
uninstalling Outlook 2003 and reinstalling it, but it
keeps happening. We also tried archiving thinking the
mailboxes were getting too large.
 
Did you check for viruses and adware etc.? Also, what
O/S are you using?
 
We checked for viruses, but not adware. I will check
that. We use Windows XP Professional. Thanks.
