Outlook has encountered a problem and has to close

Hi. Can someone help me please? Outlook 2002 with Windows XP won't open.
It keeps saying that it has encountrered a problem and has to close and I get
the choice to send an error report to microsoft.

When I checked the error log it said:

Faulting application outlook.exe, version 10.0.2627.1, faulting module
msouplug.dll, version 2004.1.4.19, fault address 0x00016e68.

I would be MOSt grateful for any advice!! It is driving me crazy.

This is caused due to Norton antispam.
Close all the apps. Search for msouplug.dll.
Rename that to msouplug.old.
Now outlook will open fine.

Otherwise Disable the Norton office addin under Norton Miscallaneous options

Hi Arun, I have alos posted this question and noticed that you might also
know a solution to this, please:

I have xp pro and office xp business installed on my laptop. Laptop was
recently reset to factory setting due to some other problems. No anti virus
and internet security is currently installed on the system. The McAfee was
installed before but I removed it because I was getting stop error once a
while. Now I am getting this error:

Hanging application outlook.exe version 10.0.2627.1 Hang up and hang app,
version 0.0.0.0 Hang address 0x00000000

If anybody has some information to share it is highly appreciated.
