outlook hangs

whenever i open up outlook 2002 which connects to our
copmanies exchange server it hangs. The event logs give
me an event id:1002 with an error message of "Hanging
application OUTLOOK.EXE, version 10.0.2627.1, hang module
hung app, version0.0.0.0, hang addres 0x00000000. What
is a solution

Check personal folders:
-If mapped to a network drive they can become unstable
when over 200 MB.
If on the same drive as the Outlook installation
(archiving folders) they become unstable at about .5 GB.

Large accounts on the server (over 100 MB) can be slow and
may require several minutes to attach..

More information may be necessary.
Are you connecting through VPN or another means? Are you
directly on the LAN?
How many accounts on the Exchange server?
What is the Operating system on the Exchange Server?
Any changes recently?
-Upgrades to Exchange/Outlook/Server OS..?
-Service Packs?
-Network Connectivity?
-Network Infrastructure hardware?
-Add rules?
-Add Delegates?


Make sure you are connecting to the correct account and
exchange server.

Try to connect via another PC with Outlook 2002.

Reinstall the App. if continues to hang.
