Somehow I have managed to get 2 copies of the standard Outlook Personal
Folder list (Outlook 2003) when setting up. Neither of them will let me use
the "Close Personal Folders" menu item. How do I close one? The first has an
icon that looks like a little house, the second has an icon that looks like
multiple folders (the way an Archive folder list looks). If I get or send
e-mails, it goes into both folder lists.
I can send you a screen print if you tell me how to paste it into the text
box.
Thanks.

You have corrupted your mail profile. Create a new one with Control
Panel>Mail>Show Profiles>Add. Point your new profile at your existing PST
and you should have access to all your old data.
